SUSTAINABILITY AT LRP

Sustainability is what we strive for every day at LRP. It is a commitment to our customers and employees. It is the responsibility we have to the communities we live in, as well as the planet we live on. At LRP, sustainability is at the center of all we do.

EMPLOYEE CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Think education stops once you enter the workforce? Think again! In addition to providing over 400 hours of training for each employee, LRPoffers multiple continuing education programs.

Trade-Related Education
100% of employees are eligible for continuing trade education. LRP reimburses employees for 100% of trade-related education costs.

Continuing Education
Every employee qualifies to take part in our Continuing Education Program where the company will tailor a work schedule and tuition reimbursement plan specific to each individual employee’s interests and needs.

At LRP we pride ourselves on creating and maintaining a productive, creative, and pleasant workplace. We currently hold a 94% employee retention rate.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Our community is close to our hearts at LRP. Over the past few months, we have been making a concerted effort to get our employees involved in our outreach initiatives.

On September 26, 2015, LRP participated in its first employee community outreach event, the St. Jude Walk to End Childhood Cancer.

The company raised over $3000, 100% of which was donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and came in second place! A great start to our outreach initiatives!

While we cherish employee involvement in giving back to the community, we also understand that the products we make can have a very beneficial impact on the community. In 2015 LRP donated over $36,000 worth of units to local charities.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH ABROAD

LRP is a company that does business in all corners of the world. In addition to providing support for our local community, we like to reach out on a more global scale as well.

We have donated over $50,000 worth of vaccine refrigerators and freezers to safety net healthcare providers.

148 children in developing countries were fully vaccinated through our donations to The Gavi Campaign.

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE

At LRP we realize that reusing or repurposing any resources we can is an integral part to keeping our organization sustainable.

We have programs in place to reduce, reuse, and recycle oil, water, paper, electricity, and scrap metal; and we are on track to meet and most likely exceed our goals by the end of the year.

The Company will have converted to HFC Free Refrigerants on all units by the end of the year, thereby drastically reducing direct greenhouse emissions by 99%.

SNAP COMPLIANCE AND ENERGY STAR CERTIFIED

SNAP was established under Section 612 of the Clean Air Act to identify and evaluate substitutes for ozone-depleting substances.  The program looks at overall risks to human health and the environment of existing and new substitutes, publishes lists and promotes the use of acceptable substances, and provides the public with information

LRP is an industry leader in providing a variety of Refrigerators and Freezers that are built with Hydrocarbon Refrigerants, R290 or R600a.

R290 and R600a HC (Hydrocarbon) refrigerants are safe, and an environmentally friendly alternative to HFC (Hydrofluorocarbon) refrigerants R134a in refrigerator applications and R404a in freezer applications.

Hydrocarbon refrigerant's heat retention is approximately 90% greater R134a and 140% greater than R404a with lower viscosity. This means that HCs (Hydrocarbons) can absorb more heat faster, resulting in quicker temperature recovery and lower energy consumption.

By the year 2020, the U.S. Government will ban refrigerants R134a and R404a. The Company will have converted to HFC Free Refrigerants on all units by the end of the year, thereby drastically reducing direct greenhouse emissions by 99%.

energy-starFurthermore, LRP has recently begun that task of making all refrigeration and freezer units Energy Star approved. ENERGY STAR is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency voluntary program that helps businesses and individuals save money and protect our climate through superior energy efficiency.
